Meryl Streep is portraying Margaret Thatcher in the upcoming biopic, The Iron Lady, and the first official photo of her transformation has been released!

We don't think it gets much closer than that!
Meryl has been hard at working filming as the former British Prime Minister in London since Jan. 31, CBS News' Celebrity Circuit reports.
But the Oscar-winning actress did make a statement about the film, which has been posted to the movie's official blog!
"The prospect of exploring the swathe cut through history by this remarkable woman is a daunting and exciting challenge," Meryl said. "I am trying to approach the role with as much zeal, fervor and attention to detail as the real Lady Thatcher possesses - I can only hope my stamina will begin to approach her own!"
