Michelle Obama Chooses Rachel Roy Dress for State of the Union

Designers keep a keen eye on the wardrobe of Michelle Obama. Last night, the first lady chose to wear a white dress by American designer Rachel Roy, adorned with a black and white ribbon to honor Representative Gabrielle Giffords.
Designer Oscar de la Renta voiced his opinions last week on the first lady's wardrobe, sounding off about Mrs. Obama wearing a European designer like Alexander McQueen for the state dinner between the U.S. and China.

"Mrs. Obama does look great. She should take that and do something. She could do a great good for our industry," the designer told WWD , via the Huffington Post.

Oscar also predicted Michelle would wear an American designer for last night's State of the Union. And he was correct!
