NEWS'Mildred Pierce', Starring Kate Winslet, Earns 21 Emmy Nominations

If you watched Kate Winslet in HBO's Mildred Pierce, then you're probably not surprised it earned 21 Emmy nominations today. If you didn't watch it, maybe now you should!

Thursday morning the 2011 Emmy nominations were announced and Mildred Pierce earned the most with 21 nominations. That's right, the miniseries even beat out AMC's Mad Men, who earned 19.
Mildred Pierce is an adaptation of James M. Cain's 1941 novel that tells the story of a single mother trying to earn the love of her daughter during the Great Depression.
The HBO miniseries also stars a very memorable Evan Rachel Wood, Guy Pearce, Bryan F. O'Byrne, Mare Winningham and Melissa Leo. For the series, Evan had to ask for advice from Kate, who plays her mother, on how to film her nude scene.
“I was a lot more nervous than I thought I was going to be,” Evan told xfinityTV.com (via ). “I looked at Kate and she was like, ‘You’ve got to do it. Trust me, it’s so brave. Put a merkin on and you’ll be fine.’ ”
