MTV on Amber Portwood's Charges: "Hope for a Quick & Fair Resolution"

An episode of MTV's Teen Mom showing Amber Portwood hitting her baby's father Gary Shirley launched a seven-week investigation with the Anderson, Indiana police. Yesterday, three criminal charges were filed against the Teen Mom and MTV has now released a statement.

Amber was charged with two felonies and a misdemeanor for domestic violenc. If convicted, she faces up to three years in jail and fines of up to $10,000.
The investigation on Amber was sparked after a Teen Mom episode aired showing Amber hitting Leah's father, Gary, several times.
MTV released an official statement regarding Amber's charges saying, "We are cooperating with all parties and hope for a quick and fair resolution that allows everyone involved to move forward in a positive manner."
