Natalie Portman Is an Ambassador of Hope

Last night, FINCA honored Natalie Portman as their Ambassador of Hope in NYC, during a gala for their at a gala 25th Anniversary Creating Pathways Out of Poverty event at Capitale Bowery, and Nat had some great pals by her side to help her celebrate the occasion, including Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine and Jake Gyllenhaal, of unending hotness.

On the red carpet, Natalie discussed why she thinks FINCA is so important.
"I’ve been working with FINCA since 2003 and it’s really amazing to see women helped out of poverty, not only by giving a hand out, but by giving them the possibility to help them build," Natalie explained.

"They have so much pride in their own businesses start and it really helps all of the side effects of poverty," she added. "From these businesses, people start feeding their children better, educating their children better, having better clothing, shelter and mainly having more pride in themselves."
