As he gears up to star in the TV version of Teen Wolf to air on MTV this June, up-and-comer Tyler Hoechlin opens up about turning down a Twilight role. Wait, what?
The 23-year-old told PopEater about his former goal of becoming a professional baseball player and having to decide between two true loves: baseball and acting! "The last time when I was in a situation where I had to pick between baseball and acting, I turned down a role in Twilight." Having chosen baseball, he added, "I would have played Edward's brother."

So, it's only fitting that when his coach gave him an ultimatum this time around, Tyler dropped baseball and pursued acting full-throttle. After dishing about the new show and how it's much darker than the original Michael J. Fox film, he does have twinges of regrets when it comes to the national pastime.

"I miss it for sure, there's no getting around it. I don't think there's anyone who plays baseball for that long who can just walk away and not have part of themselves with the game and love everything about it. I get to live vicariously through it now."
