
Nicolas Cage's Dad has Died at Age 75

Nicolas Cage's father, August Coppola, died Tuesday after a heart attack, the Associated Press reports. He was 75 years old.
August taught literature and served as dean of creative arts at San Francisco State University.
He is the brother of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola and besides Nicolas, he is survived by sons Christopher Coppola and Marc Coppola and three grandchildren.
Nicolas' paternal grandparents were composer Carmine Coppola and actress Italia Pennino.

Through his father, Nicolas is the nephew of director Francis Ford Coppola and actress Talia Shire. He is the cousin of directors Roman Coppola and Sofia Coppola, late film producer Gian-Carlo Coppola and actors Robert Carmine and Jason Schwartzman.
