NJ Housewife Dina Manzo's Top 5 Things to Watch Out for This Season
May 3 2010, Published 7:52 a.m. ET
The Real Housewives of New Jersey are returning for a highly-anticipated second season tonight and the drama has been rumored to be crazier than ever. OK! caught up with housewife Dina Manzo who shared her top five things to watch out for this season!
1. Some New "Jersey-isms" — Last year there was “bubbies.” What can we expect this year?
This year, we’re going to introduce another girly part...one of my very favorites. I guess you’re going to have to watch to see what it is. It’s a very cute name that I think is going to sweep the nation. All of us girls have one. Use your imagination. We refer often to it throughout the season, I think there’s a drink named after it.

2. Housewives Jacqueline Laurita and Teresa Giudice Give Birth
You’ll see both of them in the hospital. I don’t think they’re going to pull a Kourtney Kardashian and pull them out themselves. You’ll see the babies and their bundled up blankets in the hospital. Lots of tears and hugs, there’s nothing like a little baby.
3. The Parties
We do parties Jersey style and of course, I am an event planner, so it’s something that I put my two cents in, and of course it’s going to be amazing. You’ll see some Christenings and some housewarmings and some, you know fundraisers too, so lots of get togethers, lots of family. This season I think is going to show a little more family than last year.
4. Teresa Heads to Italy
Yeah, there was a big trip to Italy. Teresa went to see her home, where her parents were from, so it’s nice to see the roots a little bit more. You’ll see in the first episode how they make tomato sauce. I think it’s so wonderful to keep those traditions alive.
5. Dina's Charity Project Ladybug
The most important thing right now is the Lucky Locks campaign, which is a red hair extension. You can go to luckylocks.org and go to your local salon and have them join us and join the campaign. All the proceeds go to children cancer patients in St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, N.J.. SO.CAP.USA is generously donating all of the hair extensions and the salons are so generously donating their time to put them in. I think it’s a really fun way to get the word out there, spread the awareness about childhood cancer and also raise money. I think it looks great, first of all, this chic little red streak in your hair and you’ll see me wearing it throughout the season. Right now Teresa has one in her hair and Jacqueline’s getting hers today, so it’s something that looks great and it’s also for a great cause. The campaign is for the entire month of May.
Want OK! each day? Sign up here!
May is officially Project Ladybug month and this is a great way to get the word out there nationwide, reaching out internationally as well to Canada and Australia. I get e-mails every day from Ireland, everywhere, how can we help out with Ladybug and this is exactly how: Reach out through your local salon and have them sign up, go to luckylocks.org and get you red hair extension today!
The Real Housewives of New Jersey premieres tonight at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo.
