OK! has some exclusive news about Beyoncé Knowles - the soulful superstar has just been selected by American Express to be their latest A-list celebrity rep. She follows in the footsteps of Tiger Woods, Ellen DeGeneres, Robert De Niro, Kate Winslet, Venus Williams and others to pitch for the financial giant. This latest endorsement deal for the 25-year-old former Destiny Child's singer will have her fronting a multi-million dollar ad campaign set to be launched later this year. But Beyoncé isn't wasting any time getting things started - she's already stepped in front of the cameras to shoot some print advertisements and she'll be in Manhattan on Aug. 6 to film her first commercial for Amex. The Bootylicious beauty, whose sophomore solo album B'Day was released last year, is currently in the middle of The Beyonce Experience, her North America concert tour which kicked off in New Orleans last month and ends in Vancouver on Sept. 7. Audiences will be able to see her energetic stage act when she performs at Madison Square Garden on the Aug. 4 and 5 before the Amex video shoot.'She's a role model for so many young people,' says an insider. 'She has tremendous cross-over appeal the same way Tiger does. She's an inspiration for lots of people. She's a great fit for American Express.'By David ThompsonPhoto: Wireimage.com
