
Oprah Winfrey's South African School Discovers Dead Baby on Grounds

South African authorities said on Friday the body of a dead newborn baby was found on the school grounds of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in Johannesburg, South Africa.

According News 24, local police captain Shado Mashobane, said a 17-year-old student on Wednesday, "gave birth to the baby at the school, but we can't confirm what happened to it. A case of concealment of death is being investigated."

ABC News reports the baby's body was found in one of the student's bags on the grounds of Oprah Winfrey's school.

The mother of the child was hospitalized after giving birth according to police.
Police Lt. Col. Lungelo Dlamini said in a statement (via ABC News) that the baby's body was found last Wednesday in a bag the 17-year-old girl brought to a hospital where she was being treated for excessive bleeding.
