Just yesterday, Oscar Pistorius was found not guilty of premeditated murder. The judge believed there was not enough proof that he planned to shoot girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Of course, he did definitely kill her, so today the final verdict came: he is guilty of culpable homicide.

Culpable homicide in South Africa is like negligent killing in the U.S. Pistorius was also found guilty of a weapons charge. He is now free on bail, until his sentencing on October 13. He faces 0-15 years in prison for these convictions. Typically, people serve 5-8 years for culpable homicide.
