Paris Hilton Sent Back to U.S.; Appearance in Tokyo Canceled

Looks like Paris Hilton has to put her Tokyo business aside for now. After being held for questioning by immigration officials at the Narita International Airport upon arrival in Tokyo Tuesday, Paris was asked by Japanese officials to leave the country for the time being — apparent backlash from her drug violation case in the U.S.

She was scheduled to appear at a news conference in Tokyo on Wednesday to promote her fashion line, but the appearance was canceled, PopEater reports.

Strict Japanese laws led to her detainment at the airport and boot from Japan.

"I'm going back home, and I look forward to coming back to Japan in the future," Paris told reporters before departing on her private jet, remaining upbeat.

The trip was planned prior to Paris' arrest for cocaine possession last month in Las Vegas. She pleaded guilty Monday to drug possession and was given probation for one year.
