Prom – Aimee Teegarden, best known as the coach's daughter on Friday Night Lights, plays an eager go-getter who falls for an anti-establishment dude (Thomas McDonell) who pokes holes in her worldview. For better and worse a Disney production through and through, you half expect characters to break out into corny-but-catchy song-and-dance numbers at any moment. This is a film for those who like to take their medicine — the anxiety-inducing nowheresville of adolescence — with a truckload of sugar. The Blu-ray/DVD combo includes deleted scenes and seven music videos.
THE PHILMGUY'S DVD REVIEW: GOSSIP GIRL SEASON 4; THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER SOLD
Good Will Hunting Blu-ray – Gus Van Sant's watershed 1997 drama, which launched stars (and co-writers) Matt Damon and Ben Affleck into the stratosphere, is a heartfelt story of love and friendship in the backdrop of two very different sides of Boston. Damon plays a Harvard custodian who hides his secret genius to toil in the slums with his pals, and he comes of age in conversations with a psychologist (Robin Williams) who shares his hardscrabble roots. The Blu-ray/digital copy combo transfers over the special features from the memorable DVD release, including 11 deleted scenes with option commentary from the cast and director, a spectacular movie commentary track with Van Sant, Affleck and Damon, as well as a couple brief featurettes.
THE PHILMGUY'S DVD REVIEW: THE BANG BANG CLUB; SOMETHING BORROWED
Sons of Anarchy: Season 3 – The spectacular FX drama heads to Ireland for much of the season, as the bike gang searches for the kidnapped son of the series' main character (Charlie Hunnam). Boasting triumphant performances from Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman, the eternally Emmys-overlooked show doesn't deserve the same fate by you. Extras include episode commentary, a writers roundtable, director interview and a look at the series' season 3 world premiere event.

Top Gun: 25th Anniversary Blu-ray – Homoeroticism, over-the-top action montages and Cold War paranoia reach fever pitch in this 1986 slab of wildly entertaining propaganda. Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Kelly McGillis and Meg Ryan all overact in sizzling HD. The Blu-ray/digital copy combo blasts away at your free time with commentary, a making-of doc and the riotous TV commercials used to promote the film at the time.
THE PHILMGUY REVIEWS: 30 MINUTES OR LESS STARRING JESSE EISENBERG & AZIZ ANSARI
The Beaver – Mel Gibson demonstrates some acting chops by playing a mentally troubled businessman and father attempting to put his life back together by communicating through a beaver puppet. Jodie Foster co-stars as his struggling wife, while Anton Yelchin plays his resentful teen son, who tries to place his family issues aside as he strives to win the heart of a classmate (Jennifer Lawrence). The dark comedy has something of a Donnie Darko feel, sans the sci-fi silliness. Foster, who also directs, provides commentary, while deleted scenes and a making-of featurette round out the extras.
