NEWSR&B Legend Marvin Sease Dies at 64

Rhythm and Blues lost one of its legends this week. Marvin Sease, the R&B singer best known for his songs “Candy Licker” and "Ghetto Man," passed away yesterday from complications due to pneumonia in Vicksburg, Mass. He was 64 and eight days away from his 65th birthday.
Marvin released his last album in 2008, the Long Island Press reports. He was born in South Carolina and began his career as a gospel singer.

His move to R&B brought two of his greatest hits “Ghetto Man” and then his most famous song, “Candy Licker.”
After the success of "Candy Licker," the song's provocative name became a moniker for Marvin.
He released albums with Jive Records and Mercury Records.
