It just goes to show, you can't count on a count.
And so it seems that Real Housewives of New York City star Countess Luann de Lesseps is soon to be, well, just Luann.
Her husband, the Count of Lesseps has, it seems, taken up with an Ethiopian woman in Switzerland (we've all done it, haven't we?) and now the couple -- who have been married for 16 years -- are headed for the divorce courts.
A close pal of Luann's has told Page Six: "They decided to separate. She got wind he was seeing somebody and he didn't answer her when she called. He finally sent her an e-mail saying he was with an Ethiopian woman in Geneva and he was serious with her."
"She was just devastated," the friend added. "They have basically lived apart for many years -- he lives in Europe and comes and goes as he pleases, but she never thought this would happen."
Apparently the countess and author of Class With The Countess -- who has two children with the count -- has "no intention of making it bitter or angry" and his determined to stay friends with her soon-to-be-ex husband.

A rep for the Countess confirmed the split has happened, and added that a man she had been seen with at the weekend was "just a friend".
