How does Kim Kardashian's BFF La La Anthony keep her husband of three years, New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony, faithful to her after ten years together?
“It’s about trust,” the reality star/actress, 34, tells me this week during Glade’s Emmy Award Viewing Party at The Standard in NYC. “You have to trust the person that you’re with, which I do, and have a great foundation with them, and communication. We both have careers and travel. You have to have a strong foundation of trust.”

Even though they’ve been a couple for a decade, Carmelo doesn’t take La La for granted and continues to pull out all the stops on their romance.
“We just got back from an impromptu boat trip to Nantucket, which I had never been to before, and that was exciting and fun. We went whale watching, which was a once-in-a-lifetime thing.”
Those shared experiences enhance their marriage.
“It keeps the fun in the relationship. You don’t get bored. You’re constantly doing new, fun things; spending time with each other; having great conversation. For us, we did this trip with our son, as a family.”

She continues, “When you’re with somebody for so long, you’ve got to find ways to keep the relationship fun. You can lag out if you don’t keep it fun and exciting.”
How did she land the man of her dreams?
“Without trying, which is funny because that’s what people say, and that’s what it was for me. We’ve been together over ten years now. We started off as friends and I wasn’t that interested in dating a basketball player. The basis of any good relationship is a friendship, so it’s great when you can start off as friends and build that foundation."

At the time, La La was hosting MTV’s TRL, and they were introduced by a mutual friend.
How did they get to the next level?
“Through realizing what a great friend he was, and realizing that when I wanted somebody to talk to, when I had wanted somebody to laugh with, that’s who I found myself calling all the time. It was an organic transition. It just happened. It wasn’t like one day I decided that’s the way it was going to be."
