Reject Update: Yaeger Gets Political

Who knew Idol semi-finalist Jason Yaeger was passionate about public policy regarding drug administration for prisoners?

Well, yesterday the singer surfaced for the first time since crashing out of the competition on February 28th to campaign on just that burning issue.

The Springfield News Leader reported that Jason joined local law chief Sheriff Jack Merritt at a rally to persuade lawmakers to allow psychologists to prescribe drugs.

Jason, 28, from Grand Prairie, Tex., performed a couple of numbers in the Missouri state capitol before, the paper said, the sheriff made a speech to a "small group of Yaeger fans and onlookers."

Sheriff Merritt rewarded Jason with a ringing endorsement of his performance. "The way I hear Jason sing the national anthem makes you want to go out and kill a communist," he enthused.

Jason certainly never got praise like that from Simon Cowell!
