Release Date for Mel Gibson's Comeback Flick "The Beaver" Postponed
Feb. 9 2011, Published 4:52 a.m. ET
You will have to wait a little longer to see Mel Gibson make his triumphant big screen comeback. The release of his latest movie co-starring Jodie Foster, The Beaver, has been pushed back.
The film, which stars Mel as a man down on his luck (fitting?) who resorts to befriending a beaver hand puppet to cope with his life, was slated to hit theaters on March 23. But now The Beaver is landing on the silver screen May 6, with a bigger release on May 20, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Reportedly, Summit Entertainment switched the release date to accommodate Jodie's schedule — she directed and co-starred with Mel in the dramedy.
She will be busy shooting the film God of Carnage.
