Ricky Gervais achieved his goal of "pushing the boundaries" last night as the host of the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards. While you shouldn't believe the rumors blazing that the host (who landed the job twice in a row) was fired halfway through the awards ceremony, a more credible assumption is that he probably won't be asked back. Just ask Ricky himself!

After a series of controversial blows during his hosting gig — directed at Charlie Sheen, the validity of the nominations for box office flop The Tourist , and Scientologists, whom he (without naming names) suggested are gay — Ricky does not expect to be asked back as host.

Before the 2010 Golden Globe show had even ended, Ricky told USA Today, via The Hollywood Reporter, that he was invited to host in 2011.

But no offers this year.

And if the invitation is extended, Ricky said,  "I'll go (expletive) mental."

But the comedian doesn't seemed too concerned, and he certainly had a good time.

"For three hours every year, Hollywood is scared to death of me. It's great," he told Deadline Hollywood after the show.

Ricky also explained he was trying to go out with a bang, pushing the envelope to stir up controversy: "No, it's really nothing like that. I just did what I do."

He also said that backstage, celebs didn't seem critical of his jokes.

"I guess no one's had a chance yet. Maybe I will now."

Well, he certainly is now. What do you think of Ricky's performance as host? Share your thoughts in the comments.
