Rosie O'Donnell and Michelle Rounds Married in Secret Ceremony

Surprise! Rosie O'Donnell and Michelle Rounds are married. The couple said 'I do,' on June 9 in a private ceremony in New York, Rosie's rep Cindi Berger tells People. "They got married but they haven't had the wedding celebration."

They announced their engagement in December of last year and planned to exchange vows this month, but after Michelle was diagnosed with desmoid tumors, a rare kind of ailment that forms on the arms, legs, abdomen or chest and can invade surrounding tissues and organs, the two decided to discreetly get married before her first surgery on June 14.

"It is such a rare tumor. It took them quite a while to get an accurate diagnosis," the rep added. "She had several gastrointestinal surgeries to remove the desmoid tumors. She is now on the road to recovery."

Meanwhile, Rosie, who just suffered a heart attack, wrote on her blog, "we married in private before Michelle's surgery, just the two of us,. When we r both well enough will have the wedding of r dreams surrounded by those we cherish. Thankful for the love and support so many have given us during these trying times including all of u stranger-friends connected thru invisible strands of wi fi."
