“The royal wedding has generated interest in everything royal,” says Jerramy Fine, the brains behind the London-based Princess Prep summer camp.
A royal expert and author of Some Day My Prince Will Come, Jerramy says this summer’s camps have generated “interest from all over the world” with girls from as far afield as Hong Kong heading to London to explore royal palaces, ride horses in Hyde Park, volunteer with charities and spend the night at the theater.
“When I was little girl I couldn’t think of anything worse that spending a week at a traditional American camp in the wilderness,” says Jerramy. “I wanted to create something different and Princess Prep is exactly the type of summer camp my friends and I would have wanted to attend when we were 8-years-old. It offers an alternative experience for girls who want something a bit more elegant and a bit more intellectual.”

Although the camp conjures images of little girls being taught how to capture the heart of their very own Prince William, Jerramy stresses that it’s not about marrying into royalty.
“Princess qualities discussed include philanthropy, selflessness, kindness, compassion, hard work, self-belief, leadership, diplomacy, gratitude, manners, inner beauty and strength,” she explains. “We believe that being a true princess is really about being the best version of yourself you can imagine.”
