Ryan Lochte "Not Sharp" With His New York Fashion Week Interviewing Skills

Ryan Lochte is used to getting what he wants in the swimming pool, but is finding it harder to win fans when he's not in his Speedo.

The E! network took a big chance hiring the stoic athlete to cover the crème de la crème of New York events — Mercedes Benz Fashion Week — and sources tell Page Six that producers are getting frustrated with his lackluster interviews.
“E! is regretting the decision. Even after media training, he’s still not sharp," a source told the column.
The network quickly shot off a statement saying he's doing a "great job" and they would no sooner expect Ryan to be an award-winning journalist as they would a seasoned journalist to be a gold medal-winning swimmer.
Regardless of talent, the job offers continue to pour in for Ryan. He filmed a cameo on 30 Rock yesterday, during which he was confident about filming alongside Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin.

While the Olympian really hopes to make it in the world of entertainment, he seems continuously overwhelmed by the process of acting. When filming a cameo on 90210, he admitted to "messing up his lines" and lamented how difficult it is to walk and talk at the same time.
"Memorizing lines and trying to, like, say 'em and still, like, do movement and all that. That was hard," he complained to Access Hollywood last month.
