Ryan Seacrest Stops 'Idol' Contestant From Quitting

While millions dream to be the next American Idol, the pressure of the competition isn't for everyone. According to TMZ, Idol host Ryan Seacrest stopped one of this season's contestants from throwing in the towel. Who was ready to quit? Front-runner Crystal Bowersox.

According to TMZ, the Idol hopeful was about to quit two weeks ago — ready to walk off the show — when Ryan convinced her to stay.
Ryan's heart-to-heart with Crystal occurred in the Idol parking lot in front of several people, TMZ reports, and Crystal told Ryan she couldn't handle the competition and all of the attention asking the host, "What's the point?"
Crystal reportedly told Ryan she was going to move back to Ohio to be with her family.

After the host explained the positive effects American Idol will have on her career as an artist, TMZ reports that Ryan convinced her to stay with the following statement: "The greatest thing I ever did was make enough money so I could buy my mom a house. You can buy your mom a house."
