OK! NEWS: MEET THE NEW CARRIE BRADSHAW: ANNASOPHIA ROBB WILL STAR IN SEX AND THE CITY PREQUEL! 

AnnaSophia has begun filming The Carrie Diaries, which is a TV series based on the books by Candace Bushnell. The show is a prequel to HBO's uber-successful show Sex and the City, which first introduced us to Carrie and her gal pals Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda.

The Carrie Diaries focuses on Carrie, a senior in high school, growing up in NYC in the 1980's with her rebellious and younger sister, Dorrit, played by Stefania Owen.

"When AnnaSophia Robb walked into the room, we knew we had found her," the show's writerand executive producer Amy B. Harris said of the search for the now iconic role. "Her grace, intelligence, sense of fun and her empathetic nature make her the perfect girl to bring our young Carrie to life. The fact that she loves a gorgeous pair of heels doesn’t hurt either!"
