Johnny Depp is galloping into theaters as Tonto in The Lone Ranger.
Check out the above video featuring footage of the actor filming his latest blockbuster movie last year, including the terrifying moment Johnny was nearly trampled to death by his horse. In the scene, at about the 1:06 mark, Johnny can be seen clinging to his steed's mane after it tried to buck him off.

Cast and crew are heard shouting as Johnny falls to the ground and is run over. Though it could have been worse, the star escaped with just a few bruises. "Can I tell you what the positive thing is? That my coccyx didn't take it," Johnny jokes after the incident, noting that "chicks dig a broken bone."
The movie, also starring Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger, opens on July 4.
