Shailene Woodley is the New Mary Jane Watson in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'

Fans of the Spider-Man comic series likely noticed this summer's Amazing Spider-Man movie starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, was missing a central character — Mary Jane Watson.

Well, today it was announced that Descendants actress, Shailene Woodley, was offered the role of Peter Parker's initial love interest in the 2013 sequel to the summer blockbuster.

MJ was initially immortalized by Kirsten Dunst in the initial Spider-Man trilogy (directed by Sam Raimi), but was absent in the 2012 Amazing Spider-Man, where the script focuses on Peter's other love, Gwen Stacey (Emma).

The same report suggest that movie executives may also be looking to fill the role of Peter's frenemy, Harry Osborn, who was initially played by James Franco in the previous movies.
