After a quote Sharon Stone gave to a UK Magazine was taken out of context regarding her thoughts on fellow actress Meryl Streep, the 51-year-old speaks out to clear up her statement.

“It is not ok with me for someone to take a statement I made with good-natured intent and to try and make it in to something politically incorrect,” Sharon reveals to Pop Eater.

Originally Sharon told Tattler Magazine that she can relate to Meryl’s natural look.

“I think that's why Meryl Streep is working so much, because she looks like a woman we can all relate to,” Sharon explained to Tattler Magazine, “Meryl looks like an unmade bed, and that's what I look like. To me, that looks true.”

And coming to her defense, Sharon’s publicist admits that, “the full context of what Sharon said about Meryl Streep in her interview with Tattler Magazine was meant as a compliment,” Pop Eater reports.

Sharon could not agree more that her comment was simply meant to praise the 60-year-old Julie and Julia star for her influence over women worldwide.

“My love and support for what she represents for women right now is extraordinarily important,” Sharon gushes to Pop Eater.

Sharon, who has starred in legendary films such as Basic Instinct, “greatly admires Meryl as a person, an actress, and as a friend,” Sharon’s publicist assures Pop Eater.

And while her remark was taken out of context, Sharon just wants to be clear in that her view of Meryl comes from shared personal experience.

“I look at her and I think, 'I'm chasing my kids, I've moved my parents in with me, I'm coping with food spills - that looks like me in real life,” Pop Eater reports.
