Sherman Hemsley, star of hit show The Jeffersons, has died.

Getting his start on Broadway, Sherman later crossed over into TV and found fame playing iconic characters George Jefferson on All in the Family and The Jeffersons along with Ernest Frye on Amen.
He was found dead in his El Paso, Texas home today at the age of 74.
