Simon Cowell Defends Britney Spears Amid 'X Factor' Walk-Out Rumors

X Factor creator and judge Simon Cowell has spoken! And if there's anyone who demands he be listened to, it's Simon!

The Internet has been buzzing with reports that new judge Britney Spears stormed off the X Factor set during the show's first round of auditions. Show sources have denied the claims, but now Simon himself is speaking up.

"There was no walking off," he told E! News. "We have breaks every five or six songs. You can go have a cigarette, you can go to the loo. So as soon as anyone left their chairs, it was reported...that someone had left the show — and they hadn't!"

First though, he quipped that it wasn't Britney who stormed off the set — it was Demi Lovato!

"I was like, you know, tired of Simon, so I had to just, like, go," Demi said, playing along (and trying her hand at an English accent).

Simon responded: "I'm not Australian."

Ha! Well, it seems like everyone is getting along here! We hope that puts the rumors to rest.
