The Situation on 'Jersey Shore': "We Know There Will Be Season 2"

With buzz circulating that the Jersey Shore castmates will not be returning for a second season at the beach, a result of contractual disagreements, one the group's ring leaders Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino wanted to set the record straight. The self-proclaimed guido is confident he and his friends will be back on MTV for a second season, and disagrees with reports that claim otherwise.
“Everybody has their own way of doing things and I can only really speak for myself and know that we are making a Season 2 happen," Mike said to Billy Bush for Access Hollywood and his radio show, The Billy Bush Show.
Mike attacked rumors head on regarding the 'Jersey Shore' gang would be replaced because each cast member rejected the $10,000 signing bonus and $5,000 per episode MTV have offered.
“The numbers that were offered… I really can’t speak about numbers," Mike told Billy. "But I believe everything is being worked out this week. I am being a gentleman right now and we are trying not to speak about numbers.”
As far as the cast of the hit MTV show — which sparked a media frenzy for their crazy lifestyle — being replaced Mike added, “I would have to say that is false."
"I believe that the cast we have right now is irreplaceable and once you find that magic, it is hard to replace.”
The Situation remains confident that the group would stick together during any negotiations with MTV.
“I speak with everybody. I don’t know if I want to go as far as to say I speak for everybody,” Mike explained. “Me, Pauly and Snooks, we are very tight. We speak everyday and we make sure that we stick together and hopefully Season 2, if MTV wants it, we are going to make it happen.”
The Situation did mention that it is possible negotiations will lead to each cast member being paid the same amount for each episode.
“I would have to say that would be true because me being one of the leaders of the group, most of the cast will call me up and they will say, ‘Mike, is everything OK?’ and usually I will give the heads up,” he said. “We are a big family and we really are close and friends in real life. I think that is what makes the show so good."

“As it comes to negotiating, we know that there will be a Season 2 and we hope MTV will have us back and I am pretty sure that is going to happen,” he added.
The Situation revealed there could be a spin off in the works for one of his castmates, but would not divulge which of his tanned buds would get the show.
Mike may be keeping tight-lipped but Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, who had a fling with The Situation, told OK! last year she hoped to have her own reality show Snookin' For Love.
Jersey Shore After Hours host Julissa Bermudez also revealed that Snooki still talks "Guido applications."
Despite any contract issues, The Situation loves his new found fame and the flocks of female fans who seem to fall at his feet, to the point where the reality star has to wear a hat and sunglasses on every outing.
“Women are asking me to sign them,” he revealed. “They are screaming, they are crying. This is something I don’t think has happened in a very long time.”
