Team Coco Nominated for 'Tonight Show' Emmy, Not Leno

Team Coco members are still coming out on top. The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien earned its first and only Emmy nomination this morning. The Tonight Show with current host Jay Leno was also submitted by NBC for consideration, but did not receive the Emmy nod. Looks like the late night showdown still isn't over!
Conan O'Brien will compete against The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, Real Time with Bill Maher and Saturday Night Live in the Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series category.
NBC pushed Jay to leave Tonight in 2009, handing the reigns over to Conan and giving Jay his own primetime show. However, after only seven months, Jay's The Jay Leno Show ratings failed, so the peacock network booted Conan from the Tonight and brought back Jay.
Conan will have a new show on TBS beginning in November. TBS also launched a campaign to nominate Conan for an Emmy.
