Terry Crews Shares How He'll Spend The Super Bowl (and Sage Advice for the Players)

Despite being a former NFL player, Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Terry Crews says he doesn't have a favorite team, but that's not stopping him from heading to the Meadowlands on February 2 for Super Bowl XLVIII.

"I’m going," Terry told OK! at FOX's Winter Press Tour day. "For one, as an ex-football player there’s a lot of bad drama that comes with football. Every year it’s always a new tragedy or a new bad story. I want to present a different side, going and supporting the guys."

The actor is one of the busiest in Hollywood, and he wants to make sure the athletes know that life gets even better off the field.

"I really tell the guys your life has just started when you’re done," Terry says. "It’s such a short part of your career. I have an analogy that football is earth and you are a rocket ship. Now when you take off everybody loves it, but you keep going into space and your life keeps going and earth gets smaller and smaller and smaller. If you treat life like you’re still in football, the rules are different out here. It’s like gravity. The rules don’t apply. I tell player, you’ve got to look beyond because every day that goes by your football career gets smaller and smaller. That goes for all athletics. No one can be an athlete all the way until they die."

After the big game airs, FOX will present a special episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine which Terry promises is hilarious.

"We have Dean Winters back as The Vulture," he reveals. "He’s killin’ it in every way. I was so happy for him to be back. He stirs everything up in our precinct and he goes all in on this episode. It’s a real exciting one. That’s the one you put behind the Super Bowl. Basically Jake and Amy are assigned to some Super Bowl duties but it’s underneath The Vulture Dean Winters. That’s the concept."
