Two legendary families will soon come together for an epic showdown. Not the Giudices and Gorgas, not some Soprano-esque families, no—it's the Simpsons and the Griffins.

Fox announced yesterday that for the first time ever, there will be a crossover episode between The Simpsons and Family Guy. The Griffins will travel to Springfield, and Fox was ready with tons of details and teasers: Stewie Griffin hits it off with Bart Simpson due to his prankster ways, while Lisa Simpson decides to help Meg Griffin get her life together. Peter and Homer? They argue over beer. YES.

This episode is sure to be a classic, so even if you are only vaguely aware about the characters of both shows (and if you don't know anything about The Simpsons or Family Guy, congrats, you have escaped mainstream popular culture entirely), it's going to be very entertaining to watch.
