Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes Are Getting Divorced, Couple Confirms!

It's a sad day for one of Hollywood's "it" couples, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

The couple has confirmed that they are getting a divorce after five years of marriage. Tom and Katie, of course, have a six-year-old daughter, Suri. Tom also has two children with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman — Isabella, 19, and Connor, 17. 

“This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family,” Katie's attorney, Jonathan Wolfe, says in a statement. He adds, “Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”

The last time the couple was photographed together on the red carpet was at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Feb. 26. Tom and Katie were last seen together in April while Tom was shooting his new movie Oblivion in New Orleans, La. 

Although Tom just wrapped his media tour for Rock of Ages, Katie did not attend any of the premieres with him, which he said was due to the fact that she was in Asia promoting her own project. 

Tom and the Dawson's Creek alum wed in November 2006 in an Italian castle following a very publicized romance. As everyone most likely remembers, Tom jumped on Oprah Winfrey's couch and confessed his love to the brunette beauty, who was never shy to gush about her man either.

This was Katie's first marriage and Tom's third — he was previously married to Nicole and actress Mimi Rogers.
