Forbes named Tom Hollywood's highest-paid actor last year, raking in $75 million for his roles in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol — in which he not only scored a base salary but a chunk of the film's $700 million box office — and generous pay sums for Rock of Ages and the yet-to-be-released Oblivion.
This information is particularly pertinent considering the actor is embroiled in a soon-to-be messy divorce from Katie Holmes. While Katie signed a prenuptial agreement, the custody and child support is still being ironed out. In New York, spouses receive at least 17% of the couple's income, however, as Tom makes considerably more than the court's cap of $400,000, the sum Katie takes home will likely be settled amongst themselves and their legal teams.

No matter how much he parts with, no other actor today even comes close to touching Tom's wealth. Second place on the Forbes list went to Leonardo DiCaprio and Adam Sandler, who each raked in only $37 million from May 2011 to May 2012. Mark Wahlberg came in fourth at $27 million.
