NEWSTV Takeover: Chatting with The Originals Star Claire Holt
The Originals premieres tonight at 9pm on the CW, and it will be so fun to see characters from the Vampire Diaries get some more screen time. One of those actors looking forward to the spin-off is Claire Holt, who portrays Original vampire Rebekah Mikaelson.
Claire, who hails from Australia, told us she is "so excited, beyond excited" for the new series. The show takes place in beautifully creepy New Orleans, though production will mainly take place in Atlanta (like Vampire Diaries).

Of the home of the Saints, Claire says, "Oh my god, I loved it. I didn't shoot any of my stuff there, I just went down there for a photo shoot. Phoebe Tonkin and I were just running around." The city has more to offer than Mardi Gras, like food! She continues, "It was really fun. I hope we get to shoot some exteriors there."

When asked about her favorite show on the CW, her answer is obvious: "Can I say the Vampire Diaries? Because I'm in The Originals? Yeah!" she laughs.
