Summertime is synonymous with FOX's annual Teen Choice Awards, and if you want to know who the under-20 set are coveting look no farther than American Idol and Vampire Diaries; who lead the nominations with six nods each.
Diaries leading hottie Ian Somehalder was nominated for Choice Actor in a Sci Fi show and real-life love Nina Dobrev racked up a nomination for the same honor in the female category. Nina's Elena will compete against another character in a vampire franchise, Anna Paquin's Sookie, in True Blood.
Even though Sarah Michelle Gellar's show The Ringer wasn't picked up for a second season by the CW, she was still nominated as the Choice TV Actress in a Drama. While J.Lo weighs her options as to whether or not she'll return to Idol, she can at least bask in her nomination for Choice Female Personality, competing against Christina Aguilera (The Voice), Jessica Simpson (Fashion Star), Tyra Banks (America's Next Top Model) and Carrie Ann Inaba (Dancing with the Stars).

Meanwhile, Justin Bieber continues to tantalize his age group with five nominations: Choice Male Artist, choice Single by a Male Artist (Boyfriend), Fashion icon, Male Hottie and Choice Twit.
