Feb. 5 2008, Published 12:06 p.m. ET
Despite whispers that the epic-length strike by the Writers Guild could possibly be coming to an end in the coming days, Vanity Fair, host of the hottest post-Oscar bash in Hollywood, announced today on its Web site that it was cancelling plans to go forward with the annual event:
"After much consideration, and in support of the writers and everyone else affected by this strike, we have decided that this is not the appropriate year to hold our annual Oscar party. We want to congratulate all of this year’s nominees and we look forward to hosting our 15th Oscar party next year."
