Lynn Redgrave, part of a legendary acting family that includes her sister Vanessa Redgrave and her niece, the late Natasha Richardson, has passed away at the age of 67.
Her publicist Rick Miramontez, speaking on behalf of her children, released a statement saying that Lynn died Sunday at her home in Connecticut. Her children Ben, Pema and Annabel were with her.
''Our beloved mother Lynn Rachel passed away peacefully after a seven year journey with breast cancer,'' they said in the statement. ''She lived, loved and worked harder than ever before. The endless memories she created as a mother, grandmother, writer, actor and friend will sustain us for the rest of our lives. Our entire family asks for privacy through this difficult time.''
Lynn perhaps wasn't as widely recognized on the screen as her sister Vanessa, but received Oscar nominations for Georgy Girl and Gods and Monsters, and Tony nominations for Mrs. Warren's Profession, Shakespeare for My Father and The Constant Wife.
Her niece Natasha passed away in 2009 after sustaining head injuries while skiing. Her brother, Corin Redgrave, died a month ago. A private funeral will be held later this week.
Our thoughts are with the Redgrave family.
