Sitting down to have a discussion with Bill about the proposed "Ground Zero mosque" turned out to be a bad idea on The View today.

"The mosque down here on 9/11. That's inappropriate," Bill said of the plans to build an Islamic community center new the former World Trade Center site, PopEater reports. "Sure, they have a right to do it," he added. "But it's inappropriate because a lot of the 9/11 families who I know, say, 'Look, we don't want that.'"

But when Bill went on to say that President Obama's numbers are down because he won't comment on the community center, Whoopi and Joy got really upset and Barbara Walter was right in the middle of it!

"You're saying that Americans are not smart enough to recognize that while it is part of our Constitution to say freedom of religion and freedom to worship and there were 70 families who are Muslim who also died in that building," Whoopi said. "So you're saying that his saying that they have the right to do it and not saying anymore is why his approval ratings have gone down?"
