VIDEO: Katy Perry Misses Matt Lauer While Performing on 'Today'

Wherever Katy Perry goes, her "California Gurls" follow! Katy pulled out all the stops on her Candy Land-inspired stage for a performance on the Today show in NYC on Friday where she performed songs from her new album as well as her famous "I Kissed a Girl." But she had one disappointment with the show — Where was Matt Lauer?

"He is very romantic, and no one else can compare to him," Katy said of her fiancé Russell Brand between songs on Today. "Besides maybe Matt Lauer. Where is Matt Lauer? He knew I would be here today, and he's left me."

Even though Matt wasn't there for her, Katy had plenty of support from her fans who camped out over night to see her. But, Katy took good care of them by sending them blankets and pillows the night before her show.

"I wanted to bring something sweet 'cause it's so early in the morning, and lots of people are really cranky early in the morning," Perry said from the pink Candy Land-inspired stage.
