We were moved by pretty much all of the performances on Friday night's Hurricane Sandy telethon, but our personal favorite was Christina Aguilera's rendition of her 2002 hit, "Beautiful."
Christina, a Staten Island native, first spoke about what it meant to her to be part of the evening.

"We've come together tonight to tell every single person who's suffering that we are here for you. We will do whatever we can to help. We will not leave anyone behind because every single one of you matters," she said.
Although the New York/New Jersey area was warned about the storm, no words of caution could have prepared people for the level of devastation brought on by Hurricane Sandy — the likes of which most residents have never seen, and hopefully will never see again, in their lifetimes. As a result, Christina's lyrics were even more poignant at this time: "Every day is so wonderful... and suddenly... it's hard to breathe..."

The evening raised money for the American Red Cross, which is providing storm victims with shelter, food and emotional support.
