Watch Meredith Vieira Cry During Carole King's Performance on Her Last Day on 'Today'

It may be Meredith Vieira's last day on Today, but she's leaving the show with a lot of friends. To remind her of this, Carole King surprised a teary-eyed Meredith with a performance of her favorite song, "You've Got a Friend."

"There is one song that kind of sums up the way we all feel about you," Matt Lauer told Meredith on Today. "In fact, you mentioned one time that you played it 30 times in a row when you graduated from high school. The song will be played by none other than the legendary Carole King."

"We are really going to miss you," Carole said as she sat down at a piano. "It's been so amazing having you in our lives on a daily basis, but thank you for so many great memories. You do have one of these. Many of them."

Carole then performed "You've Got a Friend" while Meredith cried and held hands with the Today family.
