Watch the Colbert Report Clip That's Got Everyone Angry
Stephen Colbert has had better Fridays. Last night, the Twitter handle for his show The Colbert Report repeated a joke from that night's episode. Taken out of context of his satirical show's monologue, it read as wildly racist. Now, #CancelColbert has been trending on Twitter all morning.

"I am willing to show #Asian community I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensitivity to Orientals or Whatever," @ColbertReport tweeted last night, a post that has since been deleted. The show has now tweeted out a link to the segment in which the joke appeared, which was mocking the Washington Redskins football team for their awkward attempts to make up for their own politically incorrect name. Colbert's shtick has always been that he's mocking right-wing news pundits like those on Fox News, but it's a tricky line to straddle. What's the difference between mocking people who are being offensive, and saying offensive things yourself? "This is a Comedy Central account, with no oversight from Stephen/show. Here is quoted line in context," said the show's tweet, but it may be too late for people, as the #CancelColbert trend rages on.
