To help get fans of The Vampire Diaries excited for tonight's premiere of season three, The CW has released a preview clip of the sexy new episode, "The Birthday."

Executive producer Julie Plec sets up tonight's episode in the new CW preview clip to explain to fans where they'll be picking up in the show after the long summer.

Stefan (Paul Wesley) is still missing with Klaus (Joseph Morgan). Elena (Nina Dobrev) is looking hard for her boyfriend, but his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is searching as hard.

Back in Mystic Falls, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is getting visits from the ghosts of his ex-girlfriends, while Tyler (Michael Trevino) is working hard to get a girlfriend.
