Were the Judges Too Tough on Hollie Cavanagh Last Night on 'American Idol'?

Last night, the top seven contestants on American Idol performed hit songs from the past two years... but not everyone was a hit with the judges. Take fan favorite Phillip Phillips, for instance, who Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson said didn't show his true potential with the Maroon 5 song, "Give A Little More."
But what shocked us the most was the judge's harsh criticism of 18-year-old Hollie Cavanagh, who gave, what we think was, an awesome rendition of Pink's song "Perfect."
J.Lo started off the critiques by telling Hollie she looked beautiful, before explaining, "I feel you fighting and wanting to be perfect and wanting to be everything. It's not always about that."
Then Steven gave his two cents, saying, "I got to say, you know, it's not about being perfect. I'm sure, it wasn't perfect tonight for me." (Cue the crickets from the audience). "Kind of laid there a bit for me, compared to how you usually sing," he added. "But you look good tonight, girl."

"It's all of the sudden, very quiet in here," Randy chimed in, before letting Hollie know how he felt about her performance.
"No, it wasn't perfect, but it was a lot better from where you were last week. Listen, you can sing, you got a big voice and you can hit those notes, but all of them weren't spot on. The only thing I was missing was a little bit of the feeling from them."

Hmm, we don't think Hollie was trying to be "perfect" by singing "Perfect." The judges were way too tough on her!
Steven even bashed Hollie after her group performance with Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez, saying, "Holy Josh and Jess," and completely leaving Hollie's name out.
"We'll see how it all pans out," J.Lo told Hollie. " I'm rooting for you." So are we.
