LL Cool J is used to catching bad guys on NCIS: Los Angeles, but the rapper turned actor put his skills to great use in the early hours of this morning by seizing an intruder who had broken into his family home.
The 44-year-old was at his LA mansion when he heard a noise downstairs around 1am and went to investigate.

It was then that he came face to face with the intruder, who had tripped the home alarm system, and his training and pristine physical shape came into play and he took the guy down.
LL managed to detain the man until officers from LAPD arrived a short while later to arrest him. Police apparently got a call from a girl who said her dad had found an intruder and was holding him downstairs.
The Mama Said Knock You Out performer was not injured but the intruder had minor bruises on his body from the take-down.

The unnamed assailant is now in custody on suspicion of burglary but he had not been able to actually steal anything because of the quick-thinking and brave actions of the Hollywood star.
"LL Cool J and his family are safe and thank everyone for their thoughts and concern," a statement from the actor's rep said. "As a father, husband and citizen, LL Cool J is committed to keeping his family safe and is cooperating with authorities on this private matter."
LL has been married to wife Simone for 17 years and they have four children together.
The actor is known for being one of the nicest men in showbiz and just earlier this month he picked up the tab for five random ladies who he met while having dinner at Mr. Chow's restaurant in Beverly Hills.
