Wiz Khalifa Arrested in North Carolina on Drug Charges

Rapper Wiz Khalifa was taken into custody after performing at East Carolina University Monday night on drug charges.

Wiz was reportedly arrested after officers searched his tour bus in Greenville, N.C.

A spokesperson for the Pitt County Detention Center confirmed to MTV News on Tuesday morning that Wiz, 22, was booked at around 1:30 a.m., posted $300,000 bail and then released around 8 a.m. ET.

The rapper was reportedly arrested along with nine other people for the same charges of a felony count of trafficking in marijuana, a felony count of maintaining a dwelling/vehicle/place for sale or storage of marijuana and one misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wiz has spoken out on his reportedly $10,000-a-month weed habit, according to MTV News, and even Tweeted about it before his arrest.

"Smoke outs Greeneville, nc tonight," he wrote. "Fall thru wit ur finest plant life."

According to MTV News, Curren$y posted a video allegedly of the arrest and outrage from his fans. He also reportedly Tweeted about the incident saying, "They ran on lil bruh's bus ...... I'm finna smoke this telly down in his honor ...... that's them bull chips mann .... Legalize it."
