Self magazine has come up with its list of America's most inspiring women in 2009, who range from Hollywood stars to board room bosses to political pundits. Sarah Jessica Parker, Diane von Furstenberg, Rachel Maddow and several other women are celebrated in the September issue.
The list includes:
• Sarah Jessica Parker: Actress and producer
• Lolo Jones: 2009 USA Indoor Track Champion
• Katie Couric: Host of The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric; 60 Minutes Correspondent
• Diane von Furstenberg: Designer and creator of the iconic wrap dress
• Nancy Brinker: Founder of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Race for the Cure
• Shakira: Global pop star and rescuer of needy kids
• Mariska Hargitay: Star of Law & Order SVU
• Laura Scher: Cofounder of Working Assets, a phone and credit card company that gives a portion of every transaction to charity
• Trudie Styler: Actress and environmentalist
