The two were photographed leaving Giorgio Baldi on Wednesday, June 30. Although the 46-year-old and “Blinding Lights” singer, 31, exited the restaurant separately, the pair reportedly spent hours inside.
A source close to The Weeknd — real name: Abel Tesfaye — told Page Six, “They’re clearly not trying to hide [the dinner date]. He’s definitely focused on getting [in]to the movie business. He has the new HBO series he’s starring in.”
Though the two raised eyebrows following their outing, Jolie was snapped leaving her ex-husband Johnny Miller’s New York City apartment with an expensive bottle of Peter Michael Wine earlier this month. The former flames met on the set of Hackers in 1995 and married a year later, only to divorce in 1999.
The Those Who Wish Me Dead actress previously opened up about their short-lived marriage to the Calgary Sun, according to The Mirror: "Jonny and I never fought and we never hurt each other. I really wanted to be his wife. I really wanted to commit."
In 2004, Jolie also confessed that divorcing Miller "was probably the dumbest thing I've ever done" during an interview with B Magazine.
Things appeared to go well during the exes' reunion — in fact, the humanitarian reportedly introduced the British actor, 48, to sons Pax, 17, and Knox, 12, while in the Big Apple. (Jolie and ex-husband Brad Pitt share Vivienne, 12, Shiloh, 15, Zahara, 16, and Maddox, 19.)
Meanwhile, Jolie and Pitt's contentious custody battle continues to drag on. As OK! previously reported, Jolie alleged in court documents that three of the former couple's children wanted to testify against the 57-year-old — who was recently awarded joint custody.
As for her dinner date, The Weeknd — previously linked to Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez — has been getting more into acting as of late. It was recently announced that Canadian crooner will be co-writing and starring in an upcoming HBO cult drama series called The Idol.
